In some ways, it's amusing, but sad at the same time. You're right - if I were in London more I'd probably notice it. It's not so much that they didn't offer salaams, it was the look that I got when both Hassaan and I gave salaams like "who the heck is this crazy lady and why is this little white boy giving me salaams?" There are guys at work that are closet-Muslims. I find it particularly amusing when their names are Bilal and Ahmed. Like seriously - I see you at Muslim community events, at Eid prayers, and you pretend you're not Muslim at work. *roll eyes*alicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10841190608133322421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5580443242546883108.post-13888739674098756592011-02-22T09:34:11.451-05:002011-02-22T09:34:11.451-05:00Asalaamu Alaikum

However many muslim have both answered and offered salaams to me in London. Maybe you need to go more to realize it. We go every month so I can see its pretty good. What's really annoying is saying salaam to a muslim that you know from the mosque but won't answer you in public because they are not "out of the closet". By the way glad you made a friend.Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08016249614421972151noreply@blogger.com
